Webster Square Day Care Center, Inc. is a private non-for-profit corporation that provides comprehensive quality services to children and families in the Worcester area. From its small beginnings, Webster Square Day Care Center, Inc. has grown to include both a center-based and a family day care component; both publicly and privately funded. The center-based program, still in its original location in the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, provides full-day, full-time group care for sixty-one children, ages two years nine months through age seven.
The program is open from 7:30a.m. to 5:30p.m., five days per week, fifty-two weeks per year. The family day care program provides full-day, full-time homes-based care for children beginning at four weeks of age. The family day care homes are open from 6:30a.m. to 5:30p.m., fifty-two weeks per year. Subsidized families are only allowed 10 hours of child care per day. The program is closed for 16 closures, see closure list page linked at the bottom of the page. The closures are subject to change with notice.
Meeting of the children's needs is ensured by close cooperation between all parties involved in working with your child. Both programs are supplemented by a full nutrition program, health education, staff training, social services, and identification and remediation of learning delays, physical and developmental delays and disabilities. Therapeutic programs for children may include speech therapy, physical therapy, play therapy, or social service referrals. Services are by no means limited to these. Each child is treated as the unique individual that he/she is and the program is flexible to corresponding needs.
The work of the child is play and through play experiences, the child will learn.
